Yoko Ono ( 小野 洋子 ) was born on Febuary 18th 1933 she is a multimedia artist, singer and peace activist. Yoko grew up in Tokyo and became part of the New York downtown art scene in the early 60's. She met John Lennon at her own art exhibition in London in1966. They became a couple in 1968. As Lennon’s widow Yoko preserves his legacy and has created projects including Strawberry Fields in New York and The Imagine Peace Tower in Iceland through her Spirit-Foundation.
