Mikey Dread was one of the most influential figures in reggae music. His music career started with a job as an engineer for the Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation, a station known for it's foreign pop playlists in an era where some of the strongest reggae was coming out of Jamaica. After convincing his bosses to give him a shot, Dread At The Controls was born, and it became the JBC's most popular program. Dread had many fans, both at home and abroad, and London came calling when The Clash asked him to help produce some of their most well known music.
