On April 18, 1975, John Lennon appeared for the final time in front of an audience when he performed ‘Imagine’ at the New York Hilton Hotel. The evening was ‘A Salute To Sir Lew Grade’, the influential English show-business impresario. Other names on the bill that night included Tom Jones and Julie Andrews. The ‘RPS’ T-shirt featured a hand drawn logo for Record Plant Studios, created by Gary Kellgren one of the owners. Earlier that year Lennon recorded ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll’ at Record Plant in NY. A tribute cover album of the music he had grown up listening to. The album was produced by Phil Spector.
